About Michele Anderson
Christian Counselor | Master Certified Coach | Ordained Minister | Speaker | Founder of The Identity Collective™
Michele Anderson is a Christian Counselor, Master Certified Coach, Ordained Christian Minister, Speaker, and Founder of The Identity Collective™, a faith-based organization created to help individuals, couples, families, churches, and communities build stronger lives from the foundation of understanding who they are in Christ.
At the heart of Michele’s work is a simple belief:
When people understand who they are, they begin to live differently.
Identity influences how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, what we believe we are capable of, the choices we make, the relationships we build, and the way we respond to the challenges of life. Michele believes lasting growth requires more than addressing behaviors or circumstances. It means looking beneath the surface at the beliefs, experiences, relationships, and spiritual foundation that shape the way we live.
Her approach considers the whole person — body, soul, and spirit — integrating biblical truth with practical tools, self-awareness, healthy relationships, emotional growth, and intentional spiritual development.
Through counseling, coaching, speaking, and teaching, Michele works with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, identity concerns, personal growth, spiritual development, marriage and family issues, and the everyday difficulties that can leave people feeling stuck or uncertain about what comes next.
Michele also has a passion for helping people grow before crisis occurs.
Through The Identity Collective™, she develops group-based personal growth and discipleship experiences such as The Identity Project™ and The Family Project™, designed to strengthen identity, relationships, emotional health, faith, and families. Her broader vision includes partnering with churches, schools, ministry leaders, and community organizations to equip people with practical and biblical tools that can influence not only individual lives but marriages, families, and future generations.
Education, Ministry & Experience
Michele holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion and Theological Studies with a minor in Christian Counseling and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University.
Her education and training have included biblical studies, counseling, marriage and family dynamics, adolescent development, identity formation, coaching, leadership development, crisis and suicide prevention, and ministry-focused care.
Michele is also an ordained Christian minister, reflecting her commitment to counseling, discipleship, spiritual growth, teaching, and ministry that remains firmly rooted in biblical truth and the hope found in Christ.
Before transitioning into counseling and ministry, Michele spent more than 20 years working in Human Resources, staffing, recruitment, operations, and leadership development. Throughout her career, she worked with individuals and leaders across a wide range of organizations, backgrounds, and life experiences.
That background continues to influence her counseling and coaching style today. Michele brings a practical, relational approach to her work and believes people often need more than someone to listen. They also need encouragement, truth, perspective, practical tools, and meaningful next steps that help them move forward.
Why The Identity Collective™?
The Identity Collective™ grew from Michele’s desire to address something she continued to see in counseling, coaching, ministry, families, and everyday life:
People often struggle with what they are experiencing without fully understanding what they believe about who they are.
Our identities can quietly become shaped by rejection, relationships, achievement, comparison, trauma, expectations, failure, success, social media, family history, or the opinions of others.
But those things were never intended to have the final word.
Michele believes that as people understand who God says they are, recognize what has shaped them, and become intentional about how they want to live, they can begin making different decisions, building healthier relationships, establishing stronger boundaries, pursuing purpose with greater confidence, and experiencing deeper spiritual growth.
That is the heart behind The Identity Collective™.
Not simply helping people get through life — but helping them understand who they are so they can live with greater purpose, intention, faith, and freedom.
A Little More About Michele
Michele and her husband, Ted, have been married for more than 35 years and are the parents of four adult children and grandparents to four granddaughters.
Originally from California, Michele and Ted have called Tennessee home for more than 30 years and have come to deeply love its beauty, community, and changing seasons — especially fall, which Michele will readily tell you is the most beautiful time of year.
Together, they enjoy traveling throughout the United States, exploring American history and historical sites, spending time with their family, and life with their two dogs — Teddy, a Golden Retriever, and Rayna, a German Shepherd.
For Michele, the work of The Identity Collective™ is both professional and deeply personal. It reflects a lifelong belief that our stories matter, our experiences can shape us without defining us, and understanding who we are in Christ can change the direction of a life — and sometimes a generation.
